Who will survive the next pharma downsize?
A brutal downsizing is coming to pharma and those who survive will be the ones who have developed skills that are uniquely human and truly create value for industry, according to Australian experts.
In a frank session at NEXT last week, titled The 2030 Pharmacorn - What will Make You Indispensable? Edge Medical Solutions Founders Matt Britland and Dave Carroll predicted the pharma workforce will be much smaller, with different roles and a new way of creating value.
"2030 is not that long away. It's only three-and-a-half years away. If you woke up in 2030, what would your role be called? Because I can tell you now, there's going to be a lot less MSLs, Medical Advisors, Brand Managers. Are we going to have those roles? I would hasten to say - probably not," he said.
