Top GSK prize marks revolution in respiratory care
The Head of the Human T cell Laboratory in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Doherty Institute has received a prestigious award for her work determining why some people have far more severe reactions to respiratory viruses than others.
Professor Katherine Kedzierska was presented with the GSK Award for Research Excellence at the Research Australia Health and Medical Research Awards Gala Dinner, held at the Sheraton Grand Sydney. It comes with a $150,000 grand to support further research.
"It is an incredible honour to receive the 2026 GSK Award for Research Excellence," Professor Katherine Kedzierska said. "This recognition reflects the dedication of an extraordinary team of researchers and collaborators whom I have had the pleasure of working alongside over many years."
