Govt to safeguard precision meds

Life insurance companies will be banned from discriminating against people based on genetic testing results under Federal Government moves designed to save lives and safeguard the future of precision medicine and genomic research.

Advocates for change have campaigned for the ban for a decade with AstraZeneca, the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS), and Monash University researchers among the loudest of supporters.
