Govt under mounting pressure

The Federal Government is under mounting pressure to ban the use of genetic test results by life insurance companies with the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS) the latest to join supporters, which includes AstraZeneca.

The government is currently considering its response to consultation on the topic, following a Monash report called A-GLIMMER which found ongoing discrimination is taking place, deterring Aussies from undergoing testing.
