Genetic testing hits surprise snag

Genetic testing has hit an expected hurdle, with researchers warning at-risk individuals are being deterred from undergoing testing amid fears they will miss out on life insurance.

The Federal Government is being urged to take action to protect consumers from discrimination, based on genetic test results, amid criticisms the current voluntary moratorium falls well short of recommendations from a Parliamentary inquiry.
