$170M franchise safe for another year

Gilead has pushed off a challenge to more than $170 million in reimbursements for at least another year.

Alphapharm has agreed to an injunction against it supplying Dencovir, its generic version of Gilead's HIV drug Descovy, in Australia. It includes not supplying Dencovir in any way, and withdrawing its application to list Dencovir on the PBS.

It's an important win for Gilead, since the listing of a generic of Descovy, which earned $8.8 million in pre-rebate R/PBS reimbursements in the financial year 2025-26, would see flow-on price reductions to three other Gilead medicines.
