Drug short opens new care play

A shortage of Ventolin Nebules is providing an opportunity to educate asthma patients about new care guidelines, the National Asthma Council (NAC) said.

GSK’s Ventolin Nebules (salbutamol sulfate) 5mg/2.5mL inhalation solution ampoules are unavailable until 17 August, while the 2.5mg/2.5mL ampoules have limited availability until 21 December, because of an “unexpected increase in demand due to other sponsors unable to supply”, the TGA said.
