20yr road to approval finally ends

A narcolepsy treatment, sodium oxybate, previously available only via special access, has been registered for use in Australia by REACH Pharmaceuticals, with the company currently considering a submission to the PBS.

The TGA has approved Reach’s SODIUM OXYBATE-REACH for the treatment of narcolepsy in adults, adolescents and children from the aged of seven years after accepting the Schedule 8 medicine for evaluation in March 2025 under orphan status.
