Pharmas cut spend on patients

Posted 3 July 2026 AM

Pharmaceutical companies felt the pinch from pricing pressures last year, which showed in an eight per cent drop in financial support for patient organisations in 2025 compared to 2024, but they still helped with over $9.4 million.

Medicines Australia released its Patient Organisation Support Reports as part of its transparency reporting. All up, 31 pharmas reported financial support to a total of 124 patient organisations, assisting with a combined $9,430,960 for the calendar year 2025, compared to $10,243,241 in 2024.
