Drug titan almost doubles wealth

Homegrown generics mogul Dennis Bastas has again shot up the rich list, hitting 26th place on the AFR Rich List 2026 after his assumed wealth almost doubled.
Bastas saw his estimated wealth leap from $2.93 billion in April 2025 to $5.74 billion in April 2026, an increase of 95.9 per cent. This is largely down to his sale in August last year of a 25 per cent stake in his company DBG Health to a US merchant bank for $1.6 billion.
