PBS drug bows out after 35 years

Seqirus has notified the TGA that it will soon begin discontinuing all strengths of its injectable antibiotic Benpen, which has been distributed in Australia by Sandoz over the the past year, due to "commercial reasons."

The 600mg strength will be discontinued first from 30 November 2026, followed by the 3g strength on 30 April 2027, and the 1.2g strength on 31 August 2027. Supply of these products will continue until stock is exhausted.
