Sanofi ends 100-year drought

Sanofi has successfully brought its type 1 diabetes (T1D) disease-modifying therapy Tzield to Australia, marking the biggest development in the field since the discovery of insulin more than a century ago, with the company actively pursuing reimbursement for the drug.

Last week the TGA approved Tzield to delay the onset of Stage 3 T1D in adult and paediatric patients aged eight years and older with Stage 2 T1D.
