Two Macquarie University students - one studying medicine, the other engineering - have been named the first recipients of the Merck Indigenous STEM Leadership Scholarships.
Zoe Carroll, a proud Aboriginal woman with ancestral connections to the Anaiwan clan, in the NSW New England Tablelands, is in the third year of her Doctor of Medicine degree, while Mia Stevens, a proud Aboriginal woman from Awabakal land, around the NSW Hunter region, is studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours).
