The TGA has issued a warning of the risk of serious adverse events after doctors overseas injected tranexamic acid into patients’ spines, causing severe pain, seizures, cardiac arrhythmias and deaths.
“Injectable tranexamic acid should only be administered intravenously and must not be given intrathecally or epidurally,” the TGA said.
