Despite more than 10 Code of Conduct complaints in three years resulting in more than $1.3 million in fines, Australia has a well-behaved pharma industry that closely follows ethical guidelines, compared to other countries.
Medicines Australia's Code of Conduct Committee was called on to invesigate 11 alleged breaches of the Code resulting in $1.325 million in combined fines. In contrast, the UK's Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority ruled on 287 alleged code breaches over the past three years.
