Butler cuts ribbon on $1B CSL plant

Australia has another medical manufacturing Southern Hemisphere exclusive, with the opening of CSL Seqirus's new cell-based manufacturing facility in Tullamarine, Victoria.
The plant was opened by Federal Minister for Health, Disability, and Ageing Mark Butler and Victorian Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs Danny Pearson on Tuesday, the culmination of a $1 billion deal signed five years ago to boost Australia's sovereignty in influenza vaccines, Q fever vaccine, and 11 antivenoms.
