Normally at loggerheads, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the Australian Medical Association (AMA) have found common ground, urging Health Minister Mark Butler to tackle regulations on medicinal cannabis prescribing and dispensing.
In a joint letter to the Minister, the Guild and the AMA have raised concerns about what they describe as excessive and poorly regulated prescribing practices, the long-term use of special access schemes for medicinal cannabis, and the proliferation of prescribing and dispensing clinics operating outside typical care pathways.
