One of the oldest and most widely available blood thinners, heparin, may have found a new purpose with an Australian study revealing an inhaled version of the drug significantly reduced the risk of death in COVID-19 patients.
The researchers now believe the drug could also be useful in fighting other serious respiratory infections such as pneumonia, influenza and RSV.
