New prescribers on the horizon

Australians will find it easier to be prescribed drugs, with the Pharmacy Board of Australia commencing work on establishing an endorsement for scheduled medicines for pharmacists.

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia has welcomed the news. In August it released a plan dubbed Towards 2035 which envisions 80 per cent of community pharmacies being able to offer additional services to patients, including examining, diagnosing, and treating everyday and long-term health conditions.
