Aussie mRNA plant deal done

Moderna has signed an in-principle agreement with the Australian Government to open a new manufacturing and finishing facility in Victoria - the first location in the southern hemisphere to manufacture mRNA vaccines.

Under the deal - announced by Prime Minister Scott Morrison today (Tuesday) - Moderna's new manufacturing plant will be capable of producing up to 25 million vaccine doses per year from 2024, with the capacity to scale up to 100 million doses per year to combat future pandemics.
