Redundancies hit pharma spin-off

Sanofi spin-off Opella has undertaken a review of its field force resulting in an undisclosed number of job losses.

Opella separated from Sanofi early last year when the pharma sold a controlling stake in the consumer healthcare business for $17.6 billion, retaining 48.2 per cent of the company.

"Opella has recently completed a review of its Community Pharmacy Field Team to ensure its customer coverage model reflects the evolving needs of community pharmacy customers and consumers," a spokesperson for the company told Pharma in Focus.
