What's the ROI of government mRNA initiatives?
A recently released Impact Report highlights what Victoria has received from its bold initiative launched five years ago to make the state the Asia-Pacific hub for mRNA research, manufacturing, and clinical trials.
The investments come under the auspice of mRNA Victoria and, as a government agency, much of its costs are bundled in with the cost for the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions of which it is part. Beyond that, the agency has been responsible for handing out tens of millions of dollars to support the industry.
"We're cementing Victoria as a global hub for medical research by backing our world-class researchers to advance the next generation of life-saving vaccines and medicines," Victorian Minister for Medical Research, Anthony Carbines, said.
