Pharma rejoins Medicines Australia
Gilead Sciences has returned to Medicines Australia as a Class 1 member, several years after leaving the industry body, saying the innovative medicines sector is strongest when it works together.
The decision comes at a time of significant change across healthcare systems globally, with increasing focus on how Australia can continue to recognise the value of innovation while ensuring patients have timely and equitable access to new treatments, the company said in a statement.
"Joining Medicines Australia strengthens our ability to improve access to innovative medicines,” Gilead ANZ General Manager, Arthur Miritis, added.
