Company scores double PBS win

In a major win for Astellas, two of its biggest drugs - Padcev and Xtandi - will be expanded on the PBS from tomorrow.

Padcev will be reimbursed in combination with Keytruda for the first-line treatment of eligible Australian patients with locally advanced (Stage III) or metastatic (Stage IV) urothelial cancer.

Health Minister Mark Butler said more than 490 Australians with the advanced form of bladder cancer which has spread beyond the bladder to nearby tissues, lymph nodes or other parts of the body are expected to benefit from the expanded listing. Without subsidy they would have to pay up to $4800 per script.
