Rising star locks in $35K CSL award

A QIMR Berghofer researcher has won the Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes (AAMRI) Rising Star Award, sponsored by CSL, for her groundbreaking research into gut immunity and inflammatory disease, including inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr Amanda Oliver, who is currently Team Head at QIMR Berghofer, created the first-large scale atlas of the cells in the human gut, providing new insights into how the gut stays healthy and what drives inflammatory diseases.

The award was presented last night at the AAMRI Convention Dinner at Parliament House by Health Minister, Mark Butler, with Oliver taking home $35,000 to support her ongoing research.
