The booming GLP-1 RA drug class has been slapped with updated warnings to include the potential for a rare but severe eye disorder that can result in blindness.
Used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity, they include Novo Nordisk's Ozempic, Wegovy and Saxenda and Eli Lilly's Mounjaro and Trulicity. The TGA described the GLP-1 RA medicines as "high-profile".
