Pharmac has proposed funding influenza vaccines for New Zealand children for the first time as part of a raft of changes to the vaccination schedule.
Currently, Viatris's Influvac Tetra is funded for people aged 65 years and over, and for people under 65 with certain health conditions that put them at higher risk of serious illness. The proposal would see this replaced from 1 February 2027 with Seqirus' Fluad in that age group, and the addition of Seqirus' Flucelvax for children from six months up to five years of age.
