'Ignored': Pharma fury at Budget fail

Medicines Australia has lashed out at last night's Federal Budget which failed to fund improved access to new and innovative medicines, warning Australia could be struck off the list of early access markets.

The industry body expressed "grave concerns" that the 2026-27 Budget "ignored" life-changing new and future medicines by failing to include a funded plan to implement long-awaited reform of Australia’s Health Technology Assessment (HTA) system.
