First generic of MSD drug approved

Glenmark has become the first company to register a generic of MSD’s PBS listed Stromectol under the brand name Glenmect.
The oral ivermectin-containing medicine is registered on the ARTG for the treatment of onchocerciasis and intestinal strongyloidiasis, crusted scabies in conjunction with topical therapy, and human sarcoptic scabies when prior topical treatment has failed or is contraindicated.
