Who's back at the Dept of Health?

Australia's next Chief Medical Officer has been announced, with Professor Michael Kidd being tapped to be the principal medical adviser to the Federal Health Minister and the Health Department.

Kidd brings extensive experience to the role, having been Deputy Chief Medical Officer during the COVID-19 pandemic. He started work at the Department in March 2020, as the first wave of the pandemic took off, and stayed on until the end of 2023.
