The Federal Government will spend $3.7 billion more on PBS listed medicines over five years starting in 2023-24 than was predicted in the Budget handed down in May, with two-thirds of that coming from new listings.
The Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) released yesterday revealed the new and amended listings in the past half-year are predicted to add $2.5 billion to the budget, across the PBS, RPBS, Life Saving Drugs Program, National Epidermolysis Bullosa Dressing Scheme, and Stoma Appliance Scheme.
