The co-founder of Rare Cancers Australia has been forced to use the service she set up to fund her cancer treatment that is not subsidised on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
Kate Vines, who established RCA with her husband Richard in 2012, has now set up a patient treatment fund for her latest tilt against medullary thyroid cancer, with which she was first diagnosed 33 years ago.
