The Medical Board's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements have offered an opening for pharma to boost its medical education but in a survey of GPs and specialists more than half rated it a "waste of time" and 82 per cent want it scrapped.
The purpose of CPD is to "increase the value of doctors lifelong learning" but the results of an AusDoc survey reveal the level of disquiet about the requirements, which includes a minimum of 50 hours a year on CPD activities.
