Inside Vertex's winning PBS deal

Public summary documents (PSDs) have unveiled the intense negotiations between the Department of Health and Vertex to reach a deal to list Trikafta on the PBS.

In the end, it seems Vertex put a take it or leave it offer on the table and although it was more money than the government wanted to pay, the deal was done with the company making it clear this was its "final offer."

The negotiations saw PBAC pulled into the dispute over price, assessing the final listing proposal "out of session" in February.
