How to lead without the job title

Attendees at the 2026 MAPA Medical Affairs Summit got some insight on how they could lead within their organisation from whatever position they hold.

Following her keynote speech on leadership, health technology entrepreneur Michelle Gallaher moderated the keynote panel 'Leading from Every Seat: Building Trust, Influence and Impact Across Functions'.

"The voice of medical has to be strong, and the reason I say that is medical affairs in particular isn't the most vocal function," AstraZeneca Senior Medical Affairs Leader, Fardaad 'Ferdi' Choksey, told the Summit. "We often find it hard to blow our own trumpet, sing our own praise, and therefore you need a leader who actually can advocate the work we do."
