Which specialists are embracing AI?

A survey including Australian doctors has found gastroenterologists have the highest trust in AI tools with almost three-quarters saying they thought it would benefit their clinical practice while clinicians working in pulmonary and HIV were the least eager with less than 60 per cent fans of AI.

Medscape asked HCPs: "Will the inclusion of more AI-based clinical tools (AI search, generative AI, etc) help your clinical practice?" Overall, Australian healthcare practitioners are more cautious than their Asia-pacific counterparts about the benefits of including AI in clinical practice. Just 30 per cent answered affirmatively to the question.

The majority, 52 per cent, were unsure whether AI clinical tools would help their practice, while 18 per cent thought not. It contrasts with the wider Asia-Pacific region, where around two-thirds of respondents were optimistic about AI improving their practice.
