Moderna is back in investor's good graces after announcing positive results from a Phase 3 trial of a cancer vaccine being conducted with MSD, the first positive Phase 3 readout for an individualised neoantigen therapy and for an mRNA-based cancer therapy.

The Phase 3 INTerpath-001 trial evaluated adjuvant treatment with intismeran autogene, a novel investigational mRNA-based individualised neoantigen therapy (INT) being jointly developed by MSD and Moderna, in combination with Keytruda in patients with completely resected stage IIB-IV melanoma who had not undergone prior treatment with systemic therapy. 

The trial met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival.
