The former Pfizer global headquarters in New York City is at risk of collapse after two support columns inside the skyscraper buckled, sparking widespread evacuations in the area.
The New York City Fire Department received reports of falling bricks from the 37-storey building located on East 42nd Street at around 8am local time. On arrival emergency responders and engineers found the columns had buckled between floors 21 and 22 with floors in the building sagging between the 21st and 26th levels.
