Announcing the positive Phase 3 interim analysis for Avecho Biotechnology’s CBD soft-capsule insomnia treatment, CEO Paul Gavin, described the result as a “huge sigh of relief” for both the Melbourne company and Sandoz, which has already licensed the product’s Australian rights.

Ultimately, Avecho and Sandoz hope to achieve two firsts - registering the first pharmaceutical CBD product for insomnia anywhere in the world and the first over-the-counter CBD product in Australia following regulatory changes in 2020.
