First Barbie with diabetes launches

Toy giant, Mattel, appears to have hit on another winner - debuting the first Barbie doll with Type 1 diabetes (T1D), to the delight of children with the condition.

The company partnered with Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) to ensure the new doll accurately reflects T1D patients. The latest incarnation of the world's most famous doll is part of the 2025 Barbie Fashionistas doll range.
