If the Albanese Government is returned to power this weekend a decision to ban non-compete clauses in employment contracts could transform the pharma jobs market, according to an industry employment expert.
The reform, which the Government said aims to ensure workers are "not handcuffed to their current job" would give workers more mobility to switch to higher paying roles. Research released by the Treasury Department suggests the ban will boost wages by up to four per cent.
