The Federal Government is continuing its hard line against US pharma claiming it has long wanted to "get its mitts" on Australia's PBS but at the same time agrees with industry's gripe that it takes too long to access medicines.
Speaking on ABC Radio this morning, Health and Aged Care Minister Mark Butler, served up a mixed message. He continued to stoke the fires of national outrage over claims of US interference in the PBS but then agreed with industry that the PBS system needs improvement to speed up access to new medicines.
