Former pharma executive turned coach Jill Donahue has warned industry is facing a new employment crisis - with Millennials and Gen Zs quitting to take a so-called "micro-retirement" leaving a 35 per cent talent deficit by 2030.
A "micro-retirment" refers to a career break, taken decades before the traditional retirement age in which younger employees explore what they want to do with their future. It can be time off to pursue a passion, travel or just take a break from the grind of working.
