GPs urge schooling in rare disease

GPs lack confidence in rare disease and have put their hands up for extra support to help speed the pathway to treatment for patients, presenting pharma with an opportunity to step in with information and to aid with diagnosis blind spots.

In an  AusDoc survey of 159 GPs, just one felt "completely confident" about recognising rare disease symptoms, with the majority feeling only "slightly or fairly confident" and 14 per cent not feeling "at all confident".
