Pharma political donations revealed

The pharmaceutical industry donated just over $700,000 to political parties in the 2023-24 financial year, a drop of around 15 per cent compared to the prior financial year.

Figures released by the Australian Electoral Commission revealed a fall in donations from the $830,000 the industry donated in 2022-23. Same as last year, Medicines Australia was the largest industry contributor donating $179,200 split almost evenly between the ALP and the Coalition, which was 30 per cent lower than last year.
