Pfizer's Abrysvo, the first maternal immunisation to help protect infants from RSV, will be rolled out for free through the National Immunisation Program from early next month, Health and Aged Care Minister Mark Butler announced yesterday.
Abrysvo is recommended for pregnant women between 28 and 36 weeks of gestation, to help protect infants from birth through to six months of age against lower respiratory tract disease caused by RSV. Health and Aged Care Minister Mark Butler said without subsidy, Australians could expect to pay $300 for the vaccine.
