A decision by the Federal Government to set up Genomics Australia as a body within the Department of Health and Aged Care has been branded a "slap in the face for the future of innovative healthcare in Australia".
Minister Mark Butler announced the establishment of the new national body on Friday, adding the model had been informed by advice from experts as well as states and territories.
