TGA alert over dangerous fake drug

As the compounding of semaglutide becomes illegal in Australia, counterfeit Ozempic pens have made their way into the country, the TGA has warned.

There has already been a life-threatening adverse event after a person used a counterfeit pen that was labelled as Ozempic, but which contained insulin instead. Unintended use of insulin can cause dangerously low life-threatening blood sugar levels.
