The desire for 'more patient support' from pharma is high on most doctor's wish list, according to a survey of Australian HCPs, yet 74 per cent of GPs and 55 per cent of specialists do not have any patients enrolled in a support program - largely because they aren't aware they exist.
The survey found 44 per cent of respondents were either not aware of patient support programs (PSP) or did not know enough about them while more than a third (34 per cent) complained that enrolling patients is too complicated and time consuming. One in 10 said there was not enough informational material available and 12 per cent did not feel PSPs provided enough value to patients.
