Public baffled by obesity drugs

The general public is torn on using medications to treat the obesity epidemic, with vastly different opinions on the causes of obesity and the drugs that treat it.

A survey revealed 12 per cent of respondents believe pharmaceutical companies are taking advantage of a global health crisis, while 22 per cent believe pharmas are helping to solve a global health crisis. Most people, 59 per cent, believe both statements are equally true.
